Mirror
By-Sylvia Plath
These give her a false view of her age and beauty. They tell lies and mislead her back very truthfully. She bursts into tears. Her mirror-bearing hands agitate or shake because she is very upset with her advancing age.
The mirror has been a long time close friends of the woman. She has been seeing her reflection in the mirror so many times in a day. Each morning she appears before the looking glass as she was once a young pretty woman. Now she sees an old woman in her mirror image. The mirror has noticed her change from a young girl to an old woman. She is terrified now. Her own face frightens her like some ugly fish.
